CAD/Exchange Drawings

Donson Machine can work from your hardcopy or 2-D electronic drawings in a variety of design system or imaging formats including .dxf, .dwg, .pdf, .jpg, .bmp, .tif, .plt and others. Some 2-D formats can be translated directly into CNC programming.

Beyond simulation and optimized machining, our GibbsCAM system bridges the gap between customer design models and CNC programming. Increasingly we work directly with customer models and are involved with 3-D milling projects. Donson can direct read and extract dimensional/geometric data from native mode CAD files including .prt, x_t, .dxf, .par, and .sldprt. We also can translate exchange formats including IGES and STEP files.

Importing customer-supplied model data streamlines programming and reduces the time required to get your job up and running. From our programming, we can generate a 3-D model for the customer to review. This model also can quickly generate a precision measurement routine for our Brown & Sharpe CMM.
