(06/10) Mori-Seiki NL-2500SY Lathe with Live Milling
This is Donson’s sixth “NL” Series Turning Center…
The NL2500Y has been developed to provide the milling capabilities of a machining center on a lathe. The NL CNC lathe features a milling motor inside the turret, which is directly coupled to the milling tool. The NL can reduce tool spindle acceleration time by two-thirds and can reduce vibration and noise by one-half. Measures have been taken to minimize the effects of heat displacement as well as improve machining accuracy. The lathe's turning capacity accommodates a 14.0" diameter and 27.7" length. The lathe is in the 10" chuck size class and commands a maximum bar work diameter of 3.1". Additionally, the inclusion of 4.0" Y-axis movement serves to provide flexibility and off-center machining.

The JHC Nitric Passivation System has been installed to provide Donson with in-house nitric passivation capabilities. Designed to accommodate both short runs and production lots of mid-sized stainless steel instruments and components, the new passivation system features advanced solid state controls and dual-rinse baths.

(8/09) Trumpf VMc 5 Laser Marking System
High efficiency solid state laser marking system, the VMc5 offers superior mark consistency due to a high pulse-to-pulse stability. Short pulses and increased pulse repetition rate provide high speed marking and low heat affected zone (HAZ). Automatic laser power adjustment maintains consistent output level.
Advanced software/programming with simulation of the mark with red light (integrated pilot laser diode beam). The Trumpf laser marking system creates extremely sharp, non-abrasive and lasting marking without changing the material surface.
The VMc 5 accurately and efficiently laser marks metals and plastics. Excellent depth precision enables marking on tube surfaces without moving the component.
